Julianne McGoldrick: From Hesitation to Health

Q: Why did you choose CrossFit Gardendale?

I needed to get myself in shape and get healthy for my family. CrossFit intimidated me, but April Cooper encouraged me to try it. Once I started, I realized it was an encouraging and supportive community, and I was hooked!

Q: How long have you been a member?

I have been a member of CrossFit Gardendale for about 4 years now. It’s been an incredible journey of growth and transformation.

Q: What was the reason you decided to focus on your health?

The passing of my father at the age of 60 due to a heart attack deeply impacted me. It made me realize the importance of prioritizing my health so that I can enjoy precious moments with my own family. I wanted to honor my father’s memory by taking care of myself and preventing similar health issues.

Q: What is your favorite thing about CrossFit Gardendale (CFG)?

The support and encouragement at CFG are unparalleled! Whenever I achieve a new personal record (PR) or meet a goal, the coaches and fellow athletes are just as thrilled as I am. It truly feels like a big family, and there’s nothing to be intimidated by. The sense of camaraderie and shared excitement make every workout a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
