Name: Jenna Stene
Tell us a little about yourself:
I was born in Los Angeles and lived in the Southern California area until I was 11 years old, but my dad's job moved my family and I out to Austin in 2003. I played golf at Sam Houston State University and moved out to Birmingham the summer after I graduated from college. I moved out here to be with my now fiancé - Adam. He is currently in residency at UAB and we moved to Fultondale 2 years ago.What made you start CrossFit Gardendale?
I have always loved to exercise and love living an active lifestyle. I did CrossFit for a few summers back in college and really enjoyed it. Once summer was over though I was always on the golf course or in the gym with our school trainers for team workouts. I am excited that I now get to do CrossFit on a consistent basis and am able to get stronger everyday.Describe your first workout?
The worst workout was definitely "Karen" 150 wall balls. I think my legs were sore for a whole week and walking down the stairs was a serious struggle.What goals have you accomplished so far?
Toes To Bar, Pistols, 24" Box Jumps (used to have a big mental block with those), and lifting a lot more weight than I ever thought I'd be able to.What goals do you plan to accomplish?
I plan to get double unders and pull ups. Hoping the day will come soon!What advice would you give to any new members?
My advice to new members is to not be intimidated. We have all been where you are before, but you have to start somewhere. The great thing about CrossFit is EVERYTHING can be modified. So, if you've been thinking about joining CFG...do it! You will not regret it!
