Goals Going

Read these tips to jump-start the second half of your year!

Review Your Goals

Consider whether the goals you set at the beginning of the year are still the same ones you have now. Maybe you have already reached some of the goals you set at the beginning or maybe you realized some of them were too lofty. Wherever you are at with them, whether you have been working towards them or have abandoned them along the way, take a moment to review them and see if they are the same goals you want to pursue.

Check In On Your Progress

Look at the goals you set and see your progress on them. How far have you come since you started? Have you had a chance to start working towards them? Or maybe you started, but gave up along the way. Any answer is okay! This is your opportunity to objectively look at your progress on your objectives, so you can progress further in the future. Do not get down on yourself if you are not as far along as you would like. Instead, use your motivation to fuel the second half of the year.

Tweak the Goals

Think about what you would do differently now that you are in the second half of the year. If you have not started yet, what is holding you back? Or what is not working with the goals? If you have started on them, what is working for you now? What could make things even better? Consider these factors, then make changes to make reaching your objectives even more attainable as you approach the second half of the year.

Set New Goals

It’s halfway through the year. Regardless of where you are in the progress to your original goals, it is the perfect time to set new ones in addition to or instead of the ones you have already set. What do you want to accomplish the rest of the year? Maybe things in your life have changed or you are in a different place than you thought you would be. Consider where you would like to be at the end of the year from where you are now.

Get Motivated

Now that you have had a chance to review and revise your objectives, get motivated and excited for your journey to accomplish your new ones for the rest of the year. Determine the “why” behind accomplishing them and use this to fuel each day of progress. Think of this as a clean, fresh slate for working towards your goals — both old and new ones!
