There’s an African proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” When it comes to health, there’s no such thing as a quick fix or a short cut. Because it’s not a 30-day diet or an exercise program, it’s a lifestyle, formed by the support and the hard work and the encouragement of others.
“I have attempted to lose weight numerous times over the past 10 years,” Christy Thomas shares. “Crossfit is the one thing that has stuck. I believe it’s because I finally made a healthy lifestyle change rather than using a fad “diet,” but most of all, it’s because of the people! I am so incredibly thankful for the men and women who support and encourage me daily.”
People Motivate People
Statistics have shown that sports teams who have a large crowd of fans that support and cheer them on win more games than those who have less or none at all. A healthy lifestyle is greatly affected by those you surround yourself with! At CFG we say, “Community, Family, Gardendale,” because we start as a community, turn into family, and our goal is to be a positive force in health for the city of Gardendale that continues to support you. One member of our family, Krishna Barber, says:
“So thankful for Crossfit Gardendale & their programming… 9.5 months of workouts, running, and following my eating plan have paid off. All the progress, triumphs, and goals reached have made every sore muscle, struggle, and set back worth it. In the next month I’m doing 2 things I never thought I would: a Crossfit competition and running a half marathon. This is my journey and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

What if I fail?
Failure is a legitimate fear. But if you don’t even make an attempt, your likelihood to fail goes from a slight possibility to a guaranteed outcome. You have nothing to lose in trying.
“I started Crossfit in November,” Sydney Hardiman says. “I was TERRIFIED to join. But can I tell you, I have never been more confident in my body. And seriously it doesn’t have to do with the way my body looks physically (but I do like that), instead it has to do with how amazed I am at what my body CAN do.”
Half the battle is starting. JFK once said, “Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.” Whether you’re just starting out or you’re days away from meeting your first goal, our team is ready to support and encourage you. Let’s go far together.
