Winter is now officially upon us. Unfortunately, with the Winter season and colder temperatures come the Winter blues. It can be tempting to stay inside and cozy up under some warm blankets. This Winter, we challenge you to tackle those Winter blues head on — we’ve put together some tips to help!
Move
When you are exercising, especially indoors, you can forget the season entirely! Get focused on your workout and fitness goals by staying committed to your regular CrossFit schedule. Give your endorphins a boost with exercise and leave feeling energized, despite the cold weather.
Start a New Hobby
Just as exercise and movement can be a great distraction from the cold weather blues, starting a new hobby or trying something new is also a great way to stay positive all Winter long. You may not be able to do your favorite warm-weather activities, so pick something that you have always wanted to try and do it!
Gratitude
Even though the gray skies and cold weather may be keeping you down, seek out things that you can be grateful for. It may not be the temperatures, but it may be your warm house, loved ones to surround you, or going to work out. Dig deep and find things that you can express gratitude to keep your spirits up.

Self-Improvement
Keep busy during this season by focusing on self-improvement. This can occur in many forms, so find the areas in which you want to improve and identify how you want to improve in those areas. Self-improvement could involve growing your knowledge by reading a book, changing your habits, or improving connections with those around you.
Uplifting Music
Lighten the mood at home or work this Winter with uplifting music. Play your favorite motivating songs with a positive beat to leave yourself feeling energized and refreshed. When you are indoors listening to your favorite jams, you will escape the cold weather blues and just enjoy the moment.
Positive Environment
If you cannot be outside enjoying the weather, create an environment inside that you love. Add cheerful art, brighter lights, or decorations that make you happy and brighten your day. Think of things that make you smile and add them to your work and home environments to beat the Winter blues.

Head Outside
Face the Winter weather head on and go outside. Especially if it is a sunny day, soaking up some vitamin D and getting fresh air may be exactly what you need to pick yourself up and boost your mood.
Friends and Family
Being around others is always a great way to feel better. Surround yourself with those who love and care about you to experience moments of laughter and fun. This will help make the Winter fly by and before you know it, you will be feeling yourself again!
Look Ahead
When the weather is keeping you down, take this time to look ahead towards brighter, warmer days. Make a plan or list of the things you want to do when Winter is over. Not only will this bring some sunshine to those cold days, but it will also give you a headstart on making the most of those warm-weather days.
