4 Ways To Refresh Your Workout Routine

Even if you are changing up your routine and trying new things everyday, it is easy to get stuck in a workout rut. Great news — it is equally as easy to get out of a rut and we are here to help! These are a few easy ways that you can put the buzz and excitement back into your daily workout routine!

Compete with a Friend

Studies have shown that accountability is one of the main ways you can stick to tough habits, like working out. Challenge a friend to a fitness competition. See who can make it to the most classes this month and pick a prize you both will enjoy! Whether you get treated to dinner or a beer, a competition is a great way to bring life back to your workout routine and get excited about heading to the box each day.

Identify Your Goals

Take a look at your goals. What would you like to achieve from your WOD? What do you hope to accomplish from working out? Why do you workout? Answer these questions and re-evaluate what your goals are for working out. Then, use these goals to motivate you and push you through your workouts. Seeing your goals right in front of you will help revitalize your WOD and bring back the buzz you get from working out. Whenever you are feeling discouraged, refocus on your goals and celebrate your accomplishments, seeing how far you have come since you started!

Create a Pre-Workout Routine

Often times, it is the mindset before your workout that can keep you from reaching your full potential in your workouts. If you need a refresh to get your workouts back on track, consider creating a new pre-workout routine. Maybe you already have one, maybe you don’t. Either way, this is a great opportunity to get pumped up for each of your workouts and get in the right mindset to feel great about each WOD. A workout routine could involve listening to a certain playlist, making an energizing snack, or doing a few minutes of meditation. Find what works best for you.

Reward Yourself

If you have tried a few of the tricks above and you are still not feeling the buzz of your WOD, find a way to reward yourself for your workouts. The rewards can be reminders of all of the hard work you put in. For example, if your goal is weight loss, reward yourself after you lose a certain number of pounds and buy a smaller size shirt or pants. Or, treat yourself to your favorite dessert or meal after completing your WOD five days in a row. Find the reward that best motivates you and use it to refresh your daily workout!
