Think about what your mornings look like now. Are they healthy? Do they jump-start your day with energy and nutrition? A healthy morning routine goes beyond eating the right foods or squeezing in your WOD, it is about setting yourself up for a happy and healthy day.
Why do you need a healthy morning routine?

A healthy morning routine helps you build a set of habits that make it easy to stick to your clean eating and wellness goals. For example, if eating a nutritious and filling breakfast is one of your clean eating goals, your morning routine should include time for doing so. After doing this repeatedly day in and day out, you will not have to think twice before enjoying that nutritious breakfast before you get on with the rest of your day. Mornings can often be very rushed or hectic. Simplify this time with a morning routine to start your day with ease.
Steps to a Healthy Morning Routine
By following these three easy steps, you will be on your way to a healthy morning routine! Give them a try:
1. Test Your Ideal Routine
This first step is easy and low-commitment. There is no need to make plans for how this morning routine will stick in the long term, simply find something that you would aspire to be your routine each morning and try it. Sometimes our ideal routine and the reality of what we can do each morning vary greatly. Do you want to eat breakfast every morning? Do you need time to relax before going to work? Do you prefer to shower in the morning? Whatever you envision your perfect morning to be, give it a try!
2. Tweak It As Needed
After trying your ideal morning routine, tweak it as needed. If you find that you do not have enough time in your mornings or cannot stick to one part, find a way to work around it and change your routine as needed. You can make changes one day in, a week in, or months down the road. For example, if you like to have some “quiet time” in the morning, but you always get interrupted by the kids waking up, consider shifting the quiet time to be earlier in the morning or after the kids have left for school. Your routine does not need to be stagnant. Find what works for you and your needs.
3. Stick to It
Once you find a routine that works for you, the only thing you need to focus on is sticking with it. Do not get discouraged if you miss a day or skip part of your routine from time to time, just remember to pick up where you left off and stick with the routine that you built to make your mornings and days healthier.
Start tomorrow morning by testing your ideal morning routine!
