Originally from the Gulf Coast, have lived in Gardendale since 2007. I am a Registered Nurse but have been a stay at home mom for over 7 years now. Most of our family is 4+ hours away, so making time to work out without a babysitter just wasn't a priority for me. Also, being a stay at home mom allows you to pick at junk food ALL DAY!! After having our daughter, my thyroid decided to die on me. So on top of my already unhealthy lifestyle, having thyroid issues allowed me to really pack on the pounds. A LOT OF POUNDS, and my body was telling me something needed to change.
Numbers. I'm a tad OCD, so a lot of my life is defined by numbers. 14- the number of years I've been married. 11- the number of years I've been a mom. 0- the number of pictures I've been in since Catey was 1 (until recently). 3- the number of orthopedic surgeries I've had.

“I don’t have time” is one of the easiest excuses to use to get out of most things. I never thought I had time to work out because I didn’t want to spend hours in the gym to get in a work out. That is one of the best things about Crossfit. I can … [Read more]
What I’ve come to know in my short thirty three years of life is that our lives are constantly shaped by our responses. Day in and day out, we find ourselves with multiple responses from the time we wake until the time we go to sleep. In the CrossFit … [Read more]
No, I will never compete in the CrossFit games. I am far from the amazing abilities of Rich Froning, Mat Fraser, or Christmas Abbott. Maybe, you think that you have to be like these people to join CrossFit. This is not true. I am not like the people … [Read more]
